Location: Midlands - Offices at Leeds, Prescott, or Derby

Are you an experienced Sub Agent looking to take on challenging and rewarding highways projects? We are seeking a motivated professional to join our team, managing the delivery of structural repair and specialist repair schemes on highways infrastructure.



The Role:

As a Contracts Engineer (Sub Agent), you will oversee highways schemes of various sizes, ensuring successful project delivery from planning through to completion. You will be responsible for managing site teams, subcontractors, and internal resources to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage internal resources and subcontractors to ensure smooth project execution.

  • Oversee the construction of works in line with contract drawings, specifications, and project management plans.

  • Ensure accurate site dimensional control and provide setting-out facilities for contractors.

  • Prepare and review construction method statements to enhance efficiency and safety.

  • Develop and manage project programmes, tracking progress and productivity.

  • Promote a strong health, safety, and environmental culture, ensuring compliance with legislation and site HS&E plans.

  • Lead behavioural safety initiatives on-site.

  • Monitor and report on project progress, resolving any engineering-related challenges proactively.

  • Maintain and manage construction records, O&M manuals, and as-built drawings.

  • Support our strategies for "Customer Focus," "Construction Excellence," and "Innovation."



What We're Looking For:

  • A Civil Engineering Degree or equivalent qualification (preferred).

  • Proven experience delivering structural and specialist repair projects on highways.

  • Technical expertise in structural repairs and highways infrastructure.

  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple teams and projects.

  • Proficiency in health and safety management, including behavioural safety.

  • Results-driven, with a commitment to operational excellence and continuous improvement.

  • Adaptability and problem-solving skills to manage challenges effectively.
