Position: Project/Contracts ManagerLocation: Derby, MidlandsReports To: Business Manager, Derby Office
Salary: Circa 65k, Company Car, Pension, Annual Bonus
Role Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and flexible Project/Contracts Manager to join our clients team based in Derby. The role involves managing small to medium-sized refrigeration projects using Freons, Ammonia, and CO2. The successful candidate will oversee the end-to-end execution of projects, ensuring adherence to health and safety standards, financial control, and programme schedules.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Assist in the execution of small and medium refrigeration projects.
- Contractor Oversight: Supervise subcontractors and manage key activities such as crane lifts.
- Health & Safety: Monitor and ensure compliance with health and safety standards for contract works.
- Technical Assistance: Make limited modifications to CAD drawings (training provided).
- Procurement: Order materials as required for the successful delivery of projects.
- Financial Management:
- Monitor and maintain cost plans.
- Ensure invoicing aligns with cash flow forecasts and payment applications.
- Programme Management: Track and maintain project schedules to ensure timely completion.
- Documentation: Prepare and produce Operations & Maintenance (O&M) manuals for contracts.
Requirements:
- Certifications:
- SMSTS certification (preferred but not mandatory; training provided).
- Technical Skills
- Experience with refrigeration systems (Freons, Ammonia, CO2).
- Basic CAD drawing skills (training available).
- Project Management Skills
- Strong ability to monitor cost plans and schedules.
- Experience in managing contractors and procurement processes.
- Health & Safety Familiarity with health and safety protocols for site management.
- Organizational Skills Excellent ability to manage multiple priorities in a fluid environment.
- Communication Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
