Role Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and flexible Project/Contracts Manager to join our clients team based in Derby. The role involves managing small to medium-sized refrigeration projects using Freons, Ammonia, and CO2. The successful candidate will oversee the end-to-end execution of projects, ensuring adherence to health and safety standards, financial control, and programme schedules.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Assist in the execution of small and medium refrigeration projects.
  • Contractor Oversight: Supervise subcontractors and manage key activities such as crane lifts.
  • Health & Safety: Monitor and ensure compliance with health and safety standards for contract works.
  • Technical Assistance: Make limited modifications to CAD drawings (training provided).
  • Procurement: Order materials as required for the successful delivery of projects.
  • Financial Management:
    • Monitor and maintain cost plans.
    • Ensure invoicing aligns with cash flow forecasts and payment applications.
  • Programme Management: Track and maintain project schedules to ensure timely completion.
  • Documentation: Prepare and produce Operations & Maintenance (O&M) manuals for contracts.

Requirements:

  • Certifications:
    • SMSTS certification (preferred but not mandatory; training provided).
  • Technical Skills
    • Experience with refrigeration systems (Freons, Ammonia, CO2).
    • Basic CAD drawing skills (training available).
  • Project Management Skills
    • Strong ability to monitor cost plans and schedules.
    • Experience in managing contractors and procurement processes.
  • Health & Safety Familiarity with health and safety protocols for site management.
  • Organizational Skills Excellent ability to manage multiple priorities in a fluid environment.
  • Communication Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
