Project Manager

Based in Derby with Hybrid working available. Can also be based from offices in Leicester or Coventry.

6 Month contract initially will potential longer term opportunities

This would suit a candidate with 2 years+ experience who has previously been an Assistant PM. 

The role will be working for our client in the Water industry on their Mains Renewable Programme. Water industry experience would be preferred but would also consider candidates from other industries suxh as Rail & Roads.

Main duties

  • Reporting to the Programme Lead 
  • Accountable for 2 or 3 DMA projects (mains renewals)
  • Liaise and establish effective project control:
    • Design Meetings
    • Construction Planning
    • Forward planning and reporting
    • Dealing with project issues as they arise
    • Cost management and reporting
  • Arranging & Managing site Surveys
  • Working with Design Consultants
  • work closely with the Project Coordinators to ensure that the programme runs smoothly.
  • Ensure compliance is kept up to date, such as cost tracking and legal paperwork.
  • Responsible for ensuring the planning, ordering & coordinating of all plant, equipment, materials & fittings for the scheme as well as liaising with supply chain to manage this.
  • Directly support the Network Construction Manager to ensure that all materials and equipment have been costed within the plan and are organised to arrive at the relevant time as needed for the scheme.
  • Ensuring SAP and / or relevant systems are up to date with the delivery and cost relating to relevant schemes.

Experience

  • Experience working on large and complex projects which impact multiple external stakeholder.
  • Experience managing relationships with multiple external organisations and government bodies.
  • understanding of CDM regulations.
  • Good time management and prioritisation skills, able to manage activities which are direct to the scheme or indirect to ensure a smooth programme
