ON JOB DRIVER TRAINER

WORKING 45 HOURS PER WEEK - FLEXIBLE DAYS SHIFTS

£40,000 PER ANNUM 

Are you an experienced driver with a passion for training and development?  

Join our client's team as an On-Job Driver Trainer, where you will combine hands-on driving with impactful training responsibilities.

This hybrid role offers the chance to share your expertise while driving innovation in transport safety and compliance.

What are the benefits?

  • Starting salary: £40,000 (depending on experience).
  • Hybrid role: A mix of driving duties and training responsibilities.

Day to Day Duties

  • Conduct driver assessments for pre-employment, post-accident, and refresher training.
  • Deliver training on Tachograph Laws (Working Time/Drive Time/Manual Entries).
  • Develop and roll out a consistent driver induction and assessment policy.
  • Provide Load Security Training and ensure ongoing compliance through surveillance.
  • Support accident investigations, identifying root causes and implementing remedial actions.
  • Manage ongoing driver training requirements and recommend effective delivery methods.
  • Audit fleet checks, hygiene processes, and site adherence to transport compliance standards.
  • Internal auditing for required accreditations.
  • Collaborate with teams to implement transport-based initiatives and improve compliance with legal standards.

Essential Skills

  • Valid UK Category CE licence (required).
  • Full Driver CPC and strong knowledge of licence and CPC requirements.
  • Proven experience in training and development within the transport sector.
  • RTITB Approved Driver Instructor (or equivalent).
  • Strong understanding of Load Security procedures.
  • Computer literate for reporting and training documentation.

Desirable Experience

  • Knowledge of emerging transport compliance technologies and best practices.
  • Experience in hybrid roles balancing driving and training responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively deliver training and engage drivers.
