Roles and Responsibilities:


Training Development & Delivery
  • Design, develop, and deliver training courses aligned with Childrens Homes Regulations, The Children Act 1989 & 2004, and Ofsted standards.
  • Provide mandatory safeguarding training, ensuring staff understand their legal responsibilities in protecting children.
  • Keep up to date with changes in safeguarding policies, whistleblowing procedures, and professional boundaries.
  • Deliver engaging training sessions, using a range of methods including face-to-face, virtual, and blended learning approaches.
  • Ensure training content is interactive, practical, and tailored to meet the needs of staff at different levels of the organisation.
  • Ensure all courses are up to date with legislation, best practice, and sector developments
  • Support new and existing staff through induction training, CPD programs, and leadership development.


Training Planning & Administration

  • Develop and maintain an annual training calendar, ensuring all mandatory and developmental training is scheduled.
  • Track staff attendance, participation, and engagement across training courses.
  • Maintain accurate training records, certification logs, and compliance tracking for managers.
  • Ensure all staff are completing required induction, refresher, and CPD training within set timeframes.
  • Work with managers to ensure training needs analysis (TNA) outcomes inform workforce development plans.
  • Conduct Training Needs Analysis (TNA) to identify skill gaps and develop learning interventions.
  • Monitor and assess the impact of training, ensuring learning is effectively embedded into practice.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring for staff development, supporting progression within the organisation.


Essential Criteria Skills, Attributes and Experience:
  • Full Uk Driving Licence & Relevant Safer Recruitment Checks
  • Working knowledge of using Microsoft Office software, including PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Strong knowledge of Childrens Homes Regulations, The Children Act, and Ofsted SCCIF framework.
  • Excellent practical and theoretical knowledge within the domain of Children Residential Homes including Children Looked After including services providing SEMH, EBD & LD.
  • Proven experience in training delivery, learning development, and staff coaching.
  • Understanding of learning principles that relate to andragogical teaching.
  • Expertise in safeguarding and safer caring principles.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to engage and motivate learners.
  • Being self-motivated, organised and able to prioritise tasks to organisational needs.
  • Understanding of trauma-informed care, child development theories, and positive behaviour support.
  • Ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into practical, easy-to-understand training.
  • Adaptability and problem-solving skills to respond to workforce learning needs.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage training schedules and compliance records.
  • Strong communication and coaching abilities to support staff learning and professional growth.
