Leading engineering consultancy working on a wide variety of exciting, cutting edge projects with a number of blue chip clients across a range of industry sectors is now seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join an experienced and dynamic team.

Mechanical Design Engineer  

£40,000 - £55,000 + 33 days annual leave + discretionary Christmas shutdown Flexitime, Enhanced Company Pension, Training, Private Medical Cover.

 Mechanical Design Engineer  - The Role:

  • Producing concept designs, customer proposals, and quotations.
  • Mechanical design of bespoke machinery using 3D CAD (preferably SolidWorks)
  • Preparing design review presentations
  • Conducting FEA analysis
  • Producing manufacturing drawings, assembly drawings, BOMs, and tolerance stack studies
  • Specifying equipment and obtaining quotations from suppliers
  • Managing manufacturers and suppliers of equipment
  • Working closely with on-site Technicians to support assembly / build activities
  • Providing support for the installation and commissioning phase
  • Produce project-related documentation, risk assessments, user manuals, and project plans

 The role would suit someone with a mechanical engineering technical background with design and detailing experience who enjoys solving mechanical design and assembly challenges.

 Mechanical Design Engineer  - The Person:

  • Conceptual design and problem solving
  • 3D CAD design (preferably SolidWorks)
  • Working to drawings standards and specifying GD&T
  • Appreciation of manufacturing techniques and assembly processes
  • Commercial awareness
  • Project management
  • Willing to learn and a desire to develop your career
