Empowering Learning are working alongside a school in the DE3 area who are looking to appoint a teaching assistant on a long term basis. The duties within the role will be:

  • Providing academic support to children working below age expected levels
  • Working on a 1:1 basis with pupils struggling to engage in lessons
  • Assisting the class teacher with the preparation of lessons
  • Liaising with the class teacher around progress of the pupils
  • Using the school's reward system to help engage children

The school are looking for someone who:

  • Has previously worked with children in some capacity for a minimum of 6 months
  • Has a teaching assistant qualification or relevant degree
  • Can build relationships with children
  • Can think outside the box and be a good problem solver
  • Is able to differentiate their approach to supporting a variety of children

The finer details of the role are as follows:

  • Working hours would be 8:30-3:45
  • Working across different classes in KS2
  • Temporary contract until July 2025 with the potential of moving permanent for the right person
