Empowering Learning are working alongside a school in the DE3 area who are looking to appoint a teaching assistant on a long term basis. The duties within the role will be:
- Providing academic support to children working below age expected levels
- Working on a 1:1 basis with pupils struggling to engage in lessons
- Assisting the class teacher with the preparation of lessons
- Liaising with the class teacher around progress of the pupils
- Using the school's reward system to help engage children
The school are looking for someone who:
- Has previously worked with children in some capacity for a minimum of 6 months
- Has a teaching assistant qualification or relevant degree
- Can build relationships with children
- Can think outside the box and be a good problem solver
- Is able to differentiate their approach to supporting a variety of children
The finer details of the role are as follows:
- Working hours would be 8:30-3:45
- Working across different classes in KS2
- Temporary contract until July 2025 with the potential of moving permanent for the right person
