Full-Time Teaching Assistant

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at Career Teachers. This full-time position involves working 1:1 with a pupil in a Key Stage 1 class at a local primary school in South Derbyshire. The role is set to commence after the October half term and will be ongoing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 support to a Key Stage 1 pupil, ensuring their educational and emotional needs are met.
  • Assist the class teacher with lesson preparation and classroom management.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support the student with their individual learning plan and help them achieve their academic goals.
  • Monitor and report on the student's progress to the class teacher and SENCO.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children in an educational setting, preferably within Key Stage 1.
  • A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in education or childcare are desirable.
