Due to continued growth, a qualified Lead Electronics Engineer is needed to join SET in Derby. We deal with faults with in-service electronic and electro-mechanical assemblies, predominantly in the rolling stock part of the rail industry. 

As a senior engineer working within the Technical Service team, you will be reporting to a senior manager and taking the lead on many of the investigations and repair projects within the department.

About SET 

We cover a broad range of scales and technologies - from MagAmps to Microprocessors and Millivolts to Megawatts. Due to winning multiple new business opportunities and with growing demand from existing customers, we are looking for someone to lead and drive fault-finding and repair investigations at our facility in Derby. The company has developed a reputation as a trusted supplier to major rail industry customers. Our work is across a broad spectrum of rolling stock, from extending life with old and obsolete technologies to resolving design issues with recently introduced new vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigating reliability issues on customer's equipment
  • Implement new repair line processes
  • Provide technical guidance to Repair Technicians
  • Provide hands on support as required 

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in electronic engineering or time-served experience
  • Analogue and digital electronics design
  • Electronics bench testing and fault finding
  • PCB design
