Senior Estimator (Derby)

Cobalt recruitment is thrilled to be partnered with a leading tier one contractor who are looking to add an estimator to their team where they are looking to invest in someone long term, providing external training and will be able to technically develop your skills and work on contracts up to £350 million in value.

This is an amazing opportunity for a Senior Estimator to estimate on projects within the gas, power, telecoms sectors but is open to someone more junior looking to gain experience working with a leading name within the industry on high value projects, working alongside an experienced team gaining valuable experience and exposure to a varying workload.

The Role

You will be responsible for reviewing project content documents to assist the preparation of estimates whilst also working with schedules of rates to aid in the negotiation of proposed target prices. You will have strategic responsibility for the multi-utility estimating function which includes Bid Management and Estimating duties.

This role will require occasional travel to project sites as and when required, identifying risks throughout the bidding process, attend site visits during the tender period, contribute to the preparation of the tender book to present estimates and work alongside the estimating project team in the preparation of estimates.

You will also oversee the parts of the gated business life cycle that relate to work winning (stages 1-4).

The role is open to candidates coming from an Estimating or Quantity Surveying background who are looking to either get into estimating or already have experience doing so with multi-utility sector experience.

Requirements

  • Previous management experience as an Estimator/QS working on Construction projects
  • An honest communicator with a focus on prioritising a safe environment
  • Multi-Utility experience is desirable but not essential
  • Drivers license
