Principal Integrity Engineer (Pressure Systems)

TUV Rheinland UK is seeking Principal Integrity Engineers (permanent role) with specific pressure systems knowledge to take up senior positions in its expanding Asset Integrity Management team based in Derby, UK. The successful candidates will play a key role in leading and delivering solutions for our clients.
The majority of the teams activities are focussed on the Conventional Power and Clean Energy sectors (primarily CCGT, Biomass and Energy from Waste plants).
The candidates must have experience in all, or most, of the following:
  • Integrity assessment of defective power plant components low and high temperature (e.g. reverse code calculation, fracture mechanics, finite element analysis).
  • Legislative compliance e.g. the UK PSSR.
  • Power plant inspection (e.g. steam and water pressure parts, boiler tube surveys, support surveys), with an understanding of materials selection, damage/degradation mechanisms and life assessment.
  • Power plant mechanical engineering.
  • Power plant operations and maintenance.
In addition, you will have excellent organisational, problem solving, communication and report writing skills.

Duties and responsibilities will include:
  • Leading and delivering power plant integrity assessments.
  • Developing risk-based inspection strategies.
  • Providing technical support and advice to clients.
  • Assessing inspection results, i.e. making run / repair / replace decisions.
  • Producing formal technical reports and other project deliverables on time and to budget.
  • Creating proposals and tender return documents and developing new business
  • Mentoring and development of less experienced integrity engineers.
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of standards, legislation and good practice.
The role will involve site visits, both within the UK and abroad, to meet project requirements.
Required qualifications and experience:
  • BEng / MEng degree or equivalent in engineering related topic preferably mechanical engineering.
  • Chartered Engineer or working towards professional registration is desirable.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
