Finance & Payroll Manager

Reporting to the FD, as Finance & Payroll Manager, you will have end-to-end responsibility for the monthly accounts and payroll processes, alongside oversight of AR/ AP, management reporting, and process improvement, to ensure sound financial management of the business. You will also have joint line management responsibilities of the Finance and Compliance Administrator.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Maintain robust financial systems, processes and controls, ensuring their effective operation
  • Drive continuous improvement of policies, procedures and controls to ensure sound financial management
  • End-to-end responsibility for maintaining accurate financial accounts and for month-end processes
  • Review and analyse financial statements and produce monthly management accounts to the FD
  • Asist with the preparation of annual statutory accounts
  • Oversee sales ledger/ accounts receivable, including ensuring tight credit control procedures
  • Oversee purchase ledger/ accounts payable, including preparation of weekly payment runs
  • End-to-end responsibility of payroll processes, processing monthly payroll & pension filings
  • Preparation and submission of company VAT returns
  • Proactively support cost control across the business and produce weekly reporting of key budget lines
  • Support the creation of budgets and financial forecasting
  • Joint line management of the Finance and Compliance Administrator
  • Advise the Finance Director on any matters relating to financial performance
  • Participate in and support internal and external audits

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Part to fully qualified accountant, with excellent technical accounting knowledge
  • Experience working with accounting software, such as Xero
  • Experienced and technically proficient with Microsoft Excel
  • Experience of running AP and AR
