£400-£500 a day (outside IR35)
Interim Opportunity
Eaton Syalon require an Audit trained ACA qualified Accountant to join our client for the next 9-12 months on an interim basis.
Key responsibilities
Year-End Financial Reporting:
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting standards
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and internal policies.
Audit Preparation:
- Coordinate and prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation for external auditors.
- Act as the primary point of contact for the audit team, addressing queries and providing documentation as needed.
- Review internal processes and ensure all necessary audit evidence is available.
Financial Controls and Compliance:
- Ensure the business is compliant with relevant financial regulations and internal controls.
- Conduct reviews of financial records, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and completeness.
Balance Sheet Reconciliations:
- Perform detailed balance sheet reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies prior to audit.
- Ensure that all year-end adjustments are recorded accurately.
Year-End Closing:
- Oversee the year-end close process, including accruals, prepayments, and adjusting journal entries.
- Ensure that financial systems are updated and reflect accurate year-end data.
Management Information and Reporting:
- Assist with the preparation of management accounts and provide analysis on financial performance.
- Liaise with internal teams to gather data required for final reporting.
Liaison with Internal Stakeholders:
- Work closely with key stakeholders such as finance, tax, and legal teams to ensure seamless year-end processes.
- Communicate updates on progress and potential issues related to the audit preparation.
Process Improvements:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, particularly around year-end closing and audit preparation.
- Implement any necessary changes to improve efficiency and accuracy for future audits.
Ad-Hoc Financial Support:
- Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting as required by the management team or audit committee.
- Support with any special projects or reporting requirements that arise during the interim period.
