Hatched Recruitment is working closely with the local authorizes and we are looking for a Call handler / Carelink Operator in the Derby area.

To provide a call handling and telephony service, answering calls professionally through the specialist computerised call handling system, from vulnerable people in their own homes sometimes of a life threatening and/or emergency nature and arranging for emergency assistance when required

Working day and afternoon shifts including unsociable hours. 07:00am to 15:00pm and 15:00pm to 23:00pm.

To undertake data inputting and creation of referrals and equipment for the service and to monitor and act in relation to all Lone Workers using the Carelink service.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Receive calls at Derby Care Link via the computerised call handling system and take or initiate necessary action to respond to the incident.

2. Receive referrals and calls from members of the public or agencies requesting the services of the Social Services out of hours Team and initiate the appropriate action in response to the call.

3. Record the nature of all calls received and action initiated, by data input onto the computerised call handling system or other recording systems.

4. Report any faults on the alarm equipment linked to Derby Care Link.

5. Carry out tests on installations, fault find and report as necessary.

6. Outside of normal office hours, to receive emergency and repair calls from users connected to the Derby Care Link or from the general public relating to any of the Council's services. Take appropriate action to pass on requests to the appropriate contractor, Council department or Council officer, in accordance with instructions given.

7. Contact Support Officers as necessary to arrange home visits.

8. On occasion, to respond to emergency situations arising from those connected to Carelink. This will include giving access to emergency services and assisting with lifting uninjured fallers

9. Complete switchover arrangements with Supported Living/ Sheltered Housing staff, going off/returning to duty.

10. Update information as it applies to individual users connected to Derby Care Link by the input of data to the Piper Network Controller or other recording systems.
