We are seeking an ambitious and detail-oriented Commercial Officer to join our Procurement & Supply Chain department. The role will focus on critical aspects of the industrial and manufacturing sector, particularly the submarine division.

Description

  • Drafting complex contracts from first principles and other legally binding agreements
  • Providing expert commercial and contract management advice to the programme, technical and finance teams (E.g., FOIA, SSCR, Export/import)
  • Proactively acting to minimise risk and maximise opportunities
  • Coordinating and authoring business proposals for new contracting arrangements including supporting the timely submission of bids ensuring commercial integrity and compliance with all applicable company processes and legislation
  • Present commercial aspects of proposals and contracts at internal bid reviews, contract launches and contract reviews, to all levels of seniority, ensuring that the contractual obligations are known, understood and are being addressed
  • Managing emergent business issues including new product introduction, emerging requirements, contractual change, resolution of disputes and claims and support negotiating flow down terms and conditions to suppliers

Profile

A successful Commercial Officer - Submarines should have:

  • A strong educational background in a relevant field
  • Experience in procurement and supply chain processes within the industrial and manufacturing sector
  • Knowledge of contract negotiation and supplier management
  • Familiarity with industry regulations and standards
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise with various stakeholders
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to identify cost-saving opportunities

Job Offer
