Head of SEN/D Improvement and Quality Assurance
Are you passionate about driving change in education and ensuring every child receives the support they need? We are seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to take on a high-profile leadership role in shaping the future of SEN and SEND provision.
This role is central to improving standards, increasing inclusion, and ensuring that children and young people with additional needs receive high-quality support. Reporting to the Director of Learning, Inclusion and Skills, and working closely with the Head of Inclusion Services, you will provide strategic leadership to enhance SEND support across all educational settings.
Your work will directly impact the development of the workforce, the effectiveness of EHCPs, and the delivery of a curriculum offer within mainstream and additionally resourced provisions. You will lead initiatives that drive innovation, pilot new approaches, and mentor staff to create a culture of early intervention and effective resource use.
What We're Looking For
We are seeking a results-driven leader with a deep understanding of the education sector, particularly in relation to SEND and SEN support. The ideal candidate will have:
- A proven track record in senior leadership within education, local government, or a related field.
- Significant experience in SEND provision, with expertise in EHCPs, SEN support, and inclusive education practices.
- A strong understanding of national policies, legislation, and best practices related to SEND and additional needs.
- Experience in developing and implementing strategies to improve outcomes for children and young people with SEN/D.
- The ability to work collaboratively across multi-agency teams, including health, education, and social care.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor, coach, and inspire teams.
- Experience in managing budgets and resources effectively to ensure value for money.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills to drive change and secure positive outcomes.
This is an opportunity to play a key role in shaping a new approach to SEN support, collaborating across education, health, and social care services. If you are a forward-thinking leader with a commitment to improving outcomes for children and young people, we want to hear from you.
