HGV CLASS 1 DRIVER
WORKING FOUR DAYS ON AND THREE DAYS OFF
AFTERNOON SHIFTS: 15:00 START TIMES
People Solutions are looking for a HGV Class 1 Driver for our client based in Derby.
Assessment required, scheduled for March 13th.
If you are successful, a company paid induction will take place on March 14th.
Successful applicants must therefore be available for these dates.
Pay Rate
• £16.25 between 04:00 and 19:00
• £20.31 between 19:00 and 04:00

Day to Day Duties
• Driving Class 1 vehicles safely and efficiently to make 3-5 trunk runs a day
• Curtain sider work
• Make on time deliveries and ensure any paperwork is completed
• Communicate with the transport team
• Conduct vehicle inspections and report any faults to management
• Comply with driving rules and regulations and follow company policies and procedures
• Strapping loads correctly (awkward loads) and ensuring all loads are safe and secure
Essential Skills
• Hold a valid UK Category CE licence
• Hold valid UK CPC and UK Digital Tachograph Card
• Have a minimum of twelve months experience driving CE vehicles
• Maximum of six penalty points for minor infringements with no major endorsement codes
• Professional manner
• Excellent communication skills
Desirable Experience
• Experience in strapping abnormal loads would be beneficial, as well as navigating tight delivery depots
Training
• Must pass a driving assessment before attending a three-day company programme
