CLASS 1 DRIVER

START TIMES: 04:00 - 09:00 OR 15:00 - 21:00
PAY RATE: £16.20 - £34.00 PER HOUR
People Solutions are currently recruiting for a Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in Foston.

Rates of Pay:
- Days: £16.20 per hour
- Nights: 17.50 per hour
- Overtime after 9.5 hours: £20.00+ per hour
- Sixth shift for days: £32.00 per hour
- Sixth shift for nights: £34.00 per hour
Day to Day Duties
Your duties as a Class 1 Driver will involve but not be limited to:
- Trunking depot-depot (2-3 runs) no handball
- Working on curtain-side vehicles, delivering alcohol products
- Operate and drive various Class 1 vehicles in a safe and efficient manner to and from delivery locations
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Ensure all cargo is loaded and secured properly
- Adhere to traffic laws and regulations
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers
- Report any vehicle defects or maintenance needs to management
Essential Skills
As a Class 1 Driver you will need to:
- Hold a valid UK Category CE Licence
- Have a minimum of twelve months experience driving CE vehicles
- No more than six penalty points for minor infringements and no major endorsement codes
- Have a valid UK CPC Card and UK Digi Card
- Must be able to speak and read a good level of English
- Punctuality and excellent time keeping skills
- Have a good understanding of traffic laws and regulations
- Effective communication skills
Desirable Experience
- Experience driving any commercial vehicles would be beneficial
- Previous experience conducting multi drop deliveries will be beneficial
Training
- Driver's assessment must be completed
- After successful assessment, there will be a one day paid induction
