LTF have partnered with a Secondary School in Long Eaton to source a talented academic mentor to support students on a 1:1 basis. The role will involve supporting students in KS3 across a range of subjects and KS4 with Entry Level English & Maths. The school are looking for an ambitious and driven individual who can work independently with students in order to ensure academic progression for a variety of differing abilities.

*Learning will be delivered on and off site, requiring travel to students' homes, libraries etc (fuel expenses paid).

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Working KS4 students delivering Entry Level English & Maths
  • Working with KS3 non attending students to deliver a range of subjects (using the schools resources)
  • Delivering content on a 1:1 basis with students outside of the classroom setting
  • Working with students who do not attend mainstream lessons due to anxiety / mental health issues
  • Liaising with subject teachers to devise effective improvement strategies

The schools are looking to appoint someone who:

  • Is a competent tutor/educator with at least one years' experience
  • Has an understanding of supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis
  • Has excellent communication skills and can build relationships quickly
  • Is capable of leading small group interventions and facilitating progress effectively
  • Is dedicated to working with students in order to raise attainment
