Physics Lecturer
  • Hourly Rate: £25 - £35 incl holiday pay

A reputable educational institution in Derby is seeking a dedicated Physics Lecturer to join their team on a temporary basis. The role involves teaching both GCSE Physics and Applied/T-Level Science. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality education across 5 days, totalling 24 hours of teaching and an additional 4 hours for administrative duties.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Deliver engaging and informative lessons in GCSE Physics and Applied/T-Level Science.
  • Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, and assessments in line with curriculum requirements.
  • Provide support and guidance to students to help them achieve their academic goals.
  • Mark and assess students’ work, providing constructive feedback to facilitate improvement.
  • Maintain accurate records of students’ progress and attendance.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of teaching practices.
  • Ensure a positive and inclusive learning environment that caters to the needs of all students.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • A relevant Physics qualification or equivalent.
  • A recognised teaching qualification.
  • A DBS certificate on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
  • Proven experience in teaching Physics at various levels.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to plan, organise, and manage time effectively.
  • Commitment to professional development and staying current with the latest educational practices.
