We are working with a mainstream primary school in the Derbyshire area that are looking for a compassionate and dedicated SEND learning support assistant to join their wonderful team. The school have created an educational environment where staff and students constantly strive to improve; where teachers sharpen their skills and expand their repertoires to deliver an outstanding learning experience; and where teachers, classroom assistants, mentors, support assistants and students operate as a seamless team.

The role will be working 1:1 with a child in a year 2 class with SEN, including ASD and SEMH. You must be able to adapt easily and have a nurturing personality. It will be important in this specific role to create a strong relationship with the child so it will make their learning as comfortable and safe as possible.

The successful SEND Learning Support Assistant will have:

  • Relevant qualification level 2/3 preferred
  • Patient and able to create positive relationships
  • Experience in a SEND setting desirable
  • Able to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment
