Long Term Futures is excited to offer an excellent opportunity for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive secondary school in Derby (DE24). This is a rewarding position where you will play a key role in providing tailored support to students, particularly those with Special Educational Needs (SEN).



Key Responsibilities:

  • Support SEN Students: Provide 1-1 and small group support to students with Special Educational Needs.
  • Collaborate with Teachers: Work closely with teaching staff to implement tailored learning strategies.
  • Communication & Relationship Building: Build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Encourage Positive Behaviour: Assist students in adhering to school rules and expectations.
  • Adapt Teaching Techniques: Support diverse learning styles by adapting support methods and resources.


Person Specification:

  • Experience: Previous experience working in an educational setting, particularly with students with SEN, is highly desirable.
  • Skills: Ability to adapt teaching methods to cater to a range of learning needs.
  • Passion for Education: A genuine passion for supporting students and enhancing their learning experience.
  • An up-to-date Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one) and two professional references are required.
