What You'll Do
- Manage and maintain Linux/Unix platforms to ensure availability, security, and performance.
- Lead automation efforts using tools like Ansible, AWX, and scripting languages (Python, Bash, or Perl).
- Deliver innovative solutions for BAU and project workloads while identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Support critical systems with a "customer-first" mindset, including taking part in on-call rotation and occasional weekend work.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide technical expertise and consultancy.
What We're Looking For
- Deep expertise in Red Hat and Solaris, including system internals and kernel tuning.
- Hands-on experience with Ansible, AWX, REST API integration, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or Perl.
- Knowledge of security hardening (CIS benchmarks), disaster recovery, clustering, and high availability.
- Familiarity with networking protocols (TCP/IP), virtualisation, storage, and database layers.
- A DevOps mindset with a passion for automation and optimisation.
