AS400 iSeries Technical Consultant

Remote / Home working role

AS400, RPG, RPGILE, RPG Free Format, HTML, JavaScript, JBA System 21.

Salary - Up to c£50k (dep on exp)

Ideally based - Manchester, Leeds, Chesterfield, Derby, Leicester, Birmingham, Nottingham.

An exciting opportunity has been created for an experienced AS400 / iSeries RPG Analyst Programmer to join an established IBM AS400 iSeries Solutions provider in the role of Technical Consultant.

This is very much a hands-on RPG role providing Development and Support to both new and existing businesses / companies’ right across the UK. Your experience will have been gained from within a Full Life-Cycle environment across a variety of business types and industries, and you must be able to work from minimal specifications to produce functional and technical specifications.

Extensive experience of JBA’s System 21 within core modules covering Finance, Distribution and Manufacturing would be highly beneficial to your application.

Skills and Experience required to include but not limited to:

  • Able to program in RPG RPGILE, RPG Free Format, HTML, JavaScript.
  • Willing to work in both support and development roles.
  • Used to working under pressure and being flexible to work around customer expectations.
  • Willing to travel to sites as and when required.
  • Drive with own car.
  • Able to work on their own without a large company support infrastructure.
  • Self-motivating and managing.
  • Effective time management skills, with the ability to proficiently work on multiple ongoing projects at a time.
  • Can work to deadlines and communicate progress to management.
  • Good communicator and can liaise direct with customers.
  • To be able to work as part of a small but tight team.
  • Conscious of looking for new opportunities for work with existing clients.
