IT Infrastructure Analyst - Linux/Windows - Derby - Hybrid
Inside IR35 - £250 - £350 / day
3-month contract, with option of permanent employment after initial contract
This role requires 3-4 days per week on site in Derbyshire
IT Infrastructure Analyst required for a leading client based in Derbyshire. The IT Infrastructure Analyst will come on board to maintain and optimise technology systems, through providing support and maintenance, as well as analysing the current IT infrastructure in place to provide continuous improvement to processes.
Key skills and responsibilities:
Essential:
- Extensive experience in IT support or systems administration roles: Bring hands-on expertise in troubleshooting, maintaining, and optimising IT systems, demonstrating a deep understanding of technical environments.
- Expertise in Linux and Windows systems: A robust working knowledge of both operating environments is critical to handle diverse infrastructure setups and ensure seamless cross-platform integration.
- Strong skills in networking and database administration: Proficiency in configuring and managing networks, coupled with expertise in database setup and maintenance, ensures reliable and efficient system operations.
- Thorough understanding of IT security principles: Familiarity with modern cybersecurity practices, including risk assessment, vulnerability management, and implementation of protective measures, is vital for safeguarding sensitive data.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities: A proactive approach to diagnosing and resolving technical issues with precision and efficiency.
- Eligibility to achieve Security Clearance (SC): Given the secure nature of the role, candidates must meet the criteria for obtaining at least SC clearance, showcasing reliability and trustworthiness.
Desirable:
- Experience with containerisation tools: Practical knowledge of technologies like Docker, Podman, or Kubernetes to streamline the deployment and management of applications in containerized environments.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms: Hands-on experience with services such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud to support cloud-based operations, scalability, and innovation within the IT ecosystem.
- Expertise in Office 365 administration: Proficiency in managing O365 applications, including Intune and SharePoint, to ensure smooth workflows and secure data management across the organisation.
- Understanding of virtualisation technologies: Skills in managing virtual environments using platforms like VMware or Hyper-V to optimise resource allocation and system efficiency.
- Competence in scripting and automation: Adept at using scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell to automate repetitive tasks, boost productivity, and enhance operational reliability.
- Knowledge of ITIL best practices: Familiarity with ITIL frameworks and service management principles to maintain high standards of IT service delivery and support organisational objectives effectively.
