Job description - the role

We are seeking a highly skilled Industrial Engineer to drive productivity improvements and operational efficiency within our growing manufacturing businesses. The ideal candidate will have expertise in designing and executing Industrial Engineering projects within complex manufacturing environments, using Predetermined Motion Time Systems (PMTS), activity sampling, work measurement and time and motion studies to analyse workflows, identify inefficiencies, and recommend strategic improvements. This role requires a strong foundation in Lean Thinking and Lean Operational Excellence techniques, along with the ability to mentor and coach less experienced employees.

As a Industrial Engineer you will be responsible for:
  • Working with Operations Management and Manufacturing Engineering teams to design & conduct time and motion studies, activity sampling, and PMTS analysis to evaluate work processes and identify areas for optimisation.
  • Develop and implement data-driven recommendations to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve overall efficiency.
  • Prepare detailed reports summarising findings and provide actionable insights for further improvement initiatives.
  • Apply Lean methodologies and operational excellence principles to streamline processes and enhance value delivery.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and standardize best practices.
  • Provide training and mentorship to junior employees, fostering the development of industrial engineering skills within the team
  • Support change management initiatives by coaching employees on new processes and best practices.
  • Provide feedback on our Industrial Engineering strategies and help us to further improve and accelerate our operational excellence.
What we require from the candidate:
  • Proven experience in PMTS, activity sampling, and time and motion studies.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Thinking and Lean Operational Excellence methodologies.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and process improvement skills.
  • Ideally, a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and mentor others.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
