Our Client a is a global leader in innovative energy and aerospace turbomachinery, specializing in the development of next generation gas turbines is looking for Manufacturing Operations Engineer and the role isbased in Derby for a permanent position.
Role
The manufacturing operations engineer (MOE) will require basic understanding of project & manufacturing engineering, as the manufacturing operations engineer will support integrated product teams by setting up and maintaining Bills of Materials (BOM s), managing internal & external manufacturing-related activities, maintaining external supplier relationships, and interfacing with Quality Engineering to ensure that product and non-product are in line with company quality procedures and to disposition any non-conforming material.
Manufacturing operations engineer will have background in metallurgy, joining operations, coatings, and additive manufacturing techniques are a plus but can be learned on the job. The vision for the role is one of ever-increasing responsibility and growth to eventually become either a technical expert or IPT Lead.
Responsibilities- Manufacturing operations engineer will create, update and maintain BoMs and associated MOE tools whilst supporting multiple complex projects at the same time.
- You will have understanding of fundamentals of turbomachinery and importance of interfacing rotating/static hardware as it relates to engine operation.
- You will Serve as interface between purchasing, design, manufacturing and quality.
- Develop & maintain supplier relationships, document lessons learnt for improved design for manufacturing.
- Ensure our designs meet manufacturing requirements, set and execute project schedules, provide weekly status & determine solutions for non-conformances.
- Manufacturing operations engineer will have Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or a relevant technical degree.
- Applicable work experience in a manufacturing environment with CAD experience is beneficial.
- Ability to make technical presentations internally and to customers/suppliers.
- Must be able to work with project teams to define and document requirements, address technical concerns and provide project status.
The work environment will include a combination of office and lab/workshop.
Travel will be required from time to time throughout the UK and Europe.
