Quest Employment are looking for a skilled Machinist for DCDD in Derby on behalf of our globally respected client Rolls Royce who develop cutting-edge technologies that deliver clean, safe and competitive solutions to meet the planets vital power needs.

This Role is 12-month initially with the possibility of going perm after this.

Shift Pattern: 3 Shift Pattern

Days - Monday - Friday - 6am-2pm

Noons - Monday - Friday - 2pm-9pm

Nights - Monday - Thursday - 9pm-6am

Pay rate:

£24.83 per hour


Job description - Skilled Machinist

  • To be responsible for delivering against weekly targets to meet customer requirements. Your role as a Machinist would be machining discs and drums using multiple machining platforms to conforming standards, this could be roughing, intermediate or finishing operations.
  • To work with manufacturing programming engineers to implement continuous improvements.

As a Skilled Machinist you will be responsible for:
  • Work to technical Instructions to deliver consistent, high quality inspection across a variety of different components and product families.
  • Operate a variety of measuring equipment, including, Micrometres, plug gauges, and surface finish equipment.
  • The interpretation of manufacturing drawings, customer drawings and written specifications and understanding programmes.
  • The assessment of whether the quality of components produced within the facility meets the required standards.
  • Work within a team to effectively to ensure we hit our customer commitments.


What we require from the candidate:
  • NVQ Level 3 or time served engineering apprenticeship -ESSENTIAL
  • Clear and demonstrated understanding of drawing interpretation, calibration, Technical instruction and asset care
  • Pro-active and patient individuals that are capable of managing their time effectively.
  • An individual who is confident to work alone or part of a team.
  • Someone who is confident and willing to partake in champion roles
