Quest Employment are looking for a skilled Machinist for DCDD in Derby on behalf of our globally respected client Rolls Royce who develop cutting-edge technologies that deliver clean, safe and competitive solutions to meet the planets vital power needs.
This Role is 12-month initially with the possibility of going perm after this.
Shift Pattern: 3 Shift Pattern
Days - Monday - Friday - 6am-2pm
Noons - Monday - Friday - 2pm-9pm
Nights - Monday - Thursday - 9pm-6am
Pay rate:
£24.83 per hour
Job description - Skilled Machinist
- To be responsible for delivering against weekly targets to meet customer requirements. Your role as a Machinist would be machining discs and drums using multiple machining platforms to conforming standards, this could be roughing, intermediate or finishing operations.
- To work with manufacturing programming engineers to implement continuous improvements.
- Work to technical Instructions to deliver consistent, high quality inspection across a variety of different components and product families.
- Operate a variety of measuring equipment, including, Micrometres, plug gauges, and surface finish equipment.
- The interpretation of manufacturing drawings, customer drawings and written specifications and understanding programmes.
- The assessment of whether the quality of components produced within the facility meets the required standards.
- Work within a team to effectively to ensure we hit our customer commitments.
- NVQ Level 3 or time served engineering apprenticeship -ESSENTIAL
- Clear and demonstrated understanding of drawing interpretation, calibration, Technical instruction and asset care
- Pro-active and patient individuals that are capable of managing their time effectively.
- An individual who is confident to work alone or part of a team.
- Someone who is confident and willing to partake in champion roles
