Teacher of Design and Technology

Location: Derby, Spondon (DE21)

Daily Rate: 150 - 210 per day (paid to scale)

Days: Monday - Friday, Term Time Only

Start Date: 22nd April 2025 or as close to this as possible

End Date: July 2025 with the potential to extend

A mainstream secondary school in Derby (Spondon), are looking for a Teacher to join on a full time basis, to plan and deliver Design and Technology lessons. The Ofsted rated 'Good' school prides itself on outstanding student achievement, dynamic teaching and learning and excellent behaviour.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare and deliver well structured Design and Technology lessons.
  • Ensure lessons are planned to meet the abilities of all students.
  • Promote high standards of behaviour and build productive relationships with students.
  • Collaborate with the head of department and relevant staff members to ensure students are effectively supported.
  • Provide constructive feedback and support to students, helping them to refine their work and achieve their goals.
  • Set homework for students, in line with school policy.
  • Stay up to date with the latest advancements in design and technology education, implementing developments in curriculum design and delivery to reflect these.

Key Requirements:

  • Qualified teacher status (QTS) (suitable for ECT's)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development and staying up to date with advancements in the field.
  • Experience in teaching Design & Technology at secondary school level is desirable.
