We are now recruiting for the exciting role of Systems Integration Engineer, to be involved in an industry leading, cutting-edge project for a new type of power station.

Role Purpose
Reporting to the Systems Engineering Capability Manager, the Systems Integration Engineer will be responsible for embedding systems engineering skills, methods and toolsets to enable the integrated digital design framework for the programme. There is also the opportunity to employ systems engineering techniques to influence the system level design of the RR SMR power station and contribute to the delivery of an integrated top down design.
This is a role that provides breadth across a wide range of design areas, with opportunities to directly influence both the design framework and the design itself at a power station level. The role involves requirements management, model-based systems engineering (MBSE), design optioneering, stakeholder management, interface management and design information management topics.

Key Results & Responsibilities

  • Develop and document power plant system and sub-system architectures using a model-based approach.
  • Develop and document systems engineering methods, processes and guidance to inform design activity.
  • Roll out integrated digital design methods through training, coaching, and ongoing support to design teams.
  • Perform independent reviews to validate designs.
  • Connect people and information across design silos.
  • Work with data engineers to innovate the management and communication of design information.

Criteria 1
Demonstrable understanding of applying a systems engineering approach to design.
Logical mindset and approach to tackling problems.
Experience and awareness of engineering lifecycle.
Experience with key systems engineering methodologies (e.g. Holistic requirements model, Pugh matrix, interface management)
Criteria 2
Experience in requirements management or structured verification and use of requirements management tools (e.g. IBM DOORS).
Experience with MBSE tools [e.g. Capella]
Criteria 3
Experience of working collaboratively across teams and organisations.
Managing stakeholders from broad range of disciplines to deliver integrated solutions.
Criteria 4
Engineering background with domain expertise in the development of safety critical systems (e.g. nuclear, aerospace, rail)
Criteria 5
Ability to influence and embed change and new ways of working. Adaptable in ambiguous situations.
Strong communication skills in various formats.

Pay and Benefits
We anticipate paying a salary of between 40,000-52,500, plus:-

  • Bonus - Performance related bonus of up to 12.5%
  • Benefits Allowance - 2,200, enabling you to create a bespoke package
  • Pension - 12% employer and 6% employee contributions.
  • Holidays - 28 days holiday (+ public holidays) and the ability to buy or sell up to 4 days
  • Private Medical Insurance - BUPA single cover health care
  • Life Assurance - 6x pensionable pay
