Responsibilities:

  • Oversee on-site installations of pumps that have been adapted to suit customer requirements.
  • Provide service and breakdown response to customers in and outside of working hours.
  • Conduct maintenance, repair, and installation of pump systems in accordance with industry standards and customer requirements.
  • Perform diagnostic assessments to identify and resolve technical issues related to pump systems, including pumps, motors, valves, and control panels.
  • Collaborate with customers to understand their needs and provide professional recommendations on system optimization, efficiency improvements, and cost-effective solutions.
  • Carry out routine inspections and preventive maintenance activities to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
  • Generate comprehensive service reports, including detailed documentation of work performed, parts used, and recommendations for future maintenance or upgrades.
  • Coordinate closely with internal teams, including sales, procurement, and engineering, to ensure smooth project execution and customer satisfaction.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices to continuously enhance your technical knowledge and skills.

Requirements:

  • Background as a Service Engineer on pumps or diesel powered hire equipment such as heavy or construction plant machinery or diesel generators is considered.
  • Ideally degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Ideally proven experience as a Pump Service Engineer or in a similar role, preferably working with centrifugal pumps and associated equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of pump systems, hydraulic principles, and control mechanisms.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and control system issues.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with customers, colleagues, and stakeholders.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to client sites as needed.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
