Terinex are an independent flexible packaging supplier that specialises in the design and print of flexible packaging filmandpaper for the food, medical and pet food industries. 2024 saw them open the UKs first net zero CO2 rated building to house a flexographic printing facility. Located on a new 3-acre site near Derby, the £10m 46,000 sq ft building is big enough to accommodate the companys future growth and innovation plans in the most sustainable way possible.

As Production Director, you will lead all production,engineering, HSE, material controland warehouseoperationsand be responsible for building the team structure and recruiting into it to enable the forecast growth.You willdevelopstructures, systems,KPISand skills within the workforce in readiness to meet and successfully overcome the challengesas the business grows.It will be critical to yoursuccess to initially be tactically hands-on on the factory floor, utilisingyour proven leadership ability and gravitas to nurture and coach your growing teamto put the building blocks in place.

Alongside other board members, you willberesponsible for promoting the companys core values, enhancing the development ofthe culture andworkingenvironment

You will be a modern collaborative leader who will transform the facility into a best-in-class operation, leading the business to scale up more effectively. Current operations are still immature, and efficiencies are being missed so this is a real opportunity for you to focus on further developing and embedding a continuous improvement culture.

Who we're looking for?

  • A proven track record leading autonomously a high-growth manufacturing operation, with a multi-discipline team, within flexible packaging,print or laminationor other high-volume roll/sheet converting manufacturing environmentssuch as films, foils, polyesters, adhesives, paper, silicone, textiles, adhesive tapes, foams, plastics, felts, rubbers, and liners.
  • Strategic ability, whilst also having a pragmatic/hands-on approach - fitting of an SME.
  • Able to specify and generate data for reporting performance on operations whilst working with imperfect information to make good decisions.
  • Extensive leadership skills with a history of coaching/developing and delivering progressive cultural changein keeping with core values, enhancing employee capability and manufacturing performance.
  • Experienced in driving measurable and sustainable site performance improvement through implementation of lean/world class manufacturing techniquesincluding TPM and 5S.
