Mechanical Engineer required to support components that make up the critical path systems of the containment vessel.

We are looking for experienced Mechanical Engineers to assist our client who is a market leader within the Nuclear industry, involved in a cutting edge project for a new type of Power Station.

MECHANICAL ENGINEER - ROLE

Support the Design Leads in the development of the DR3 designs for the Personnel Airlocks [PT252], Main Equipment Access Hatch [PT251] and Fuel Transfer Channel [PT253], Piping Penetrations [PT260] and Electrical Penetrations [PT270] ahead of the DR3 review scheduled for Q4 2024. This will require embedment into the DR process, and its applied governance and core deliverables.

Produce and collate all deliverables for DR3s and run the DR3 review. Deliverables will include (but not limited to), a DFMEA, review of the Containment System [JMA] HAZID, Human Factors checklists, Risk Register updates, design calculations, Initial Method of Manufacture report, material selection decision record, PFMEA, build schedule and cost model, as well as continually updating all DOORS modules (requirements, assumptions, design definition and component safety classifications).

The role will be part of an expanding team and will require collaboration with new and existing FTEs/secondees.
