Essential Requirements:

  • Recognised or Time Served Apprenticeship
  • Extensive HVAC maintenance experience
  • Mechanical qualifications (City and Guilds standard)
  • Multi-skilled capabilities
  • Fault-finding skills
  • Contractor supervision experience
  • Competence in Risk Assessments and Method Statements
  • Proficiency in writing permits and safe systems of work
  • F-Gas certification for refrigerant handling

Responsibilities:

  • Perform electrical and mechanical maintenance on plant, equipment, and building services.
  • Manage risks and improve plant performance, including identifying critical spares and optimising the BMS system.
  • Use new technologies to maintain a comfortable environment and handle client requests for reactive and PPM tasks.
  • Fault-find on HVAC systems, especially Variable Refrigerant Volume air conditioning systems.
  • Support team health and safety initiatives.
  • Act as Energy and Safety Champion on site.
  • Provide technical expertise to the maintenance team.
  • Write and follow Risk Assessments, addressing any issues safely.
  • Complete necessary documentation as per regulations.
  • Use mobile devices for CAFM system tasks and plan daily work via email and calendars.
  • Liaise with the Supervisor and Account Manager on building services issues.
  • Act as the responsible person and deputise for the site supervisor when needed.
  • Work overtime as required, including nights and weekends.
  • Perform additional duties as needed.
  • Supervise and manage sub-contractors.
  • Participate in an on-call rota for emergencies outside normal hours.

Desirable Qualifications / Experience:

  • Working at Height Qualification
  • IPAF / PASMA
  • AP Qualifications
  • BMS system experience
  • HVAC Controls
