PPM and repair tasks on extrusion and conversion machinery.You will be working in an everchanging, hands on and fast paced manufacturing environment and will require a good level of physical fitness, with the ability to multitask and have strong attention to detail.Due to the nature of the role, the successful candidate must be prepared to work on call and attend site breakdowns when/if required.Primary responsibilities

  • Repair of advanced extrusion and conversion machinery.
  • Maintenance and technical oversight of factory machinery.
  • Quality checks as per agreed standard.
  • Changing machinery settings when required and replacing parts.
  • Ensure all tasks are carried out with safety as the principal feature.
  • Carry out and maintain good housekeeping standards throughout the factory.
  • Be an active team member and be able to work without supervision.
  • Undertake any departmental task deemed reasonable by the management.
  • Contribute to maintaining the health, safety and security of the working environment and carry out all activities and operations safely and without risk to health.

Skill/Experience

  • Qualified to NVQ Level 3 in mechanical or electrical engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience in a similar role working within a Polythene/Blown film extrusion environment.
  • Completing electrical and mechanical PPM tasks, inspecting, fault finding and repair of production machinery and equipment.
  • Trouble shoot equipment and process issues, and repair equipment to ensure day-to-day manufacturing issues are resolved and actioned in a timely manner.
  • To provide dynamic and proactive response to engineering breakdowns.
  • Confident and effective communicator.
  • To proactively contribute towards maximising machine availability and efficiency.
