Macildowie are looking for a Logistics / Transport Planner to join a growing company in Derby. The ideal candidate will have strong planning and coordination skills, who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You'll need excellent attention to detail, strong communication abilities, and a good understanding of logistics or transport operations. This role is key to ensuring efficient, timely deliveries and smooth day-to-day transport planning.

Salary: Up to £29,000 dependant on experienceWorking Hours: 9:00am - 5:00pm (Monday to Friday)

Please note this is a full-time, on-site, permanent role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Planning and scheduling daily transport routes and vehicle loads
  • Liaising with drivers, suppliers, and internal teams to coordinate deliveries
  • Monitoring live deliveries and resolving any issues or delays
  • Ensuring compliance with transport regulations and company procedures
  • Updating systems with delivery information, schedules, and changes
  • Managing transport documentation and maintaining accurate records
  • Producing reports on delivery performance, route efficiency, and costs
  • Supporting wider logistics and operational tasks as needed

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Previous experience in a transport planning or logistics scheduling role
  • Good geographical knowledge of the UK (or relevant delivery area)
  • Strong IT skills, particularly Excel and transport/logistics systems
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Great organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Understanding of driver hours, tachograph regulations, and fleet compliance (desirable)
