Reed Further Education are working with a college seeking a dedicated Teacher of Sport to join their team on a temporary basis until February, with the potential for extension. This role involves teaching various aspects of sport courses, including health and wellbeing, careers in sport, anatomy and physiology, sport injuries, and practical sport at course levels 2 and 3.

Job Title: Sport Lecturer

Position: Part-time, 0.8 FTE, Mon-Thurs

Role type: Temporary ongoing

Location: Derby

Salary: £28 - £35p/h including holiday pay (admin time is paid at £14 to £15p/h including holiday pay)

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Deliver engaging and informative lessons in Health and Wellbeing, Careers in Sport, Anatomy and Physiology, Sport Injuries, and Practical Sport.
  • Prepare lesson plans and educational materials that meet course standards.
  • Assess and evaluate students’ progress in both theoretical and practical aspects of sport.
  • Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters learning.
  • Collaborate with other teaching staff to enhance the curriculum and student learning experiences.
  • Manage classroom resources and ensure a safe and tidy environment conducive to learning.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Teaching qualification: PGCE, certificate of education, AET etc.
  • Level 3 or above qualification in sport related qualifications or a related subjects.
  • Experience teaching on level 2 and 3 sports programmes.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to engage and inspire students.
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for another one through Reed.
