Plumber / Pipe Fitter

Major Recruitment is looking for an experiencedPlumber / Pipefitterbased in Derby to join our well-established manufacturing company. You will be responsible for the completion of plumbing and pipefitting tasks provided by the works manager. The Plumber / Pipefitter will be expected to perform a variety of tasks to ensure assigned jobs are completed accurately and efficiently. The role will consist of ensuring correct procedures are followed to complete the job safely and completing quality assurance documentation.

Plumber / Pipefitter Responsibilities:

• Reading and interpreting blueprints and schematics.
• Soldering copper pipe from 15mm to 35mm.
• Working with PVC plastic pipe.
• Assembling and installing piping systems according to specifications.
• Inspecting and testing installed pipe systems for leaks or malfunctions.
• Collaborating with other construction professionals to ensure project deadlines are met.
• Inspecting materials, equipment, and tools.
• Maintaining supplies, equipment, and tools.
• Preparing working materials by clamping, cutting, or applying chemical solutions to piping.
• Examining completed installations to ensure they are free of defects, smooth, and functional.
• Observing safety regulations.

Plumber / Pipefitter Requirements:

• Trade school diploma or completed apprenticeship.
• Experience as a plumber / pipefitter.
• Competency in working with hand tools such as wrenches and pipe cutters.
• Ability to troubleshoot and strong attention to detail.
• Excellent technical skills and the ability to interpret schematics and spool drawings.
• Good communication skills.
• Physical dexterity.

Shift Pattern:

• Monday - Friday
• Competitive rate DOE
• Temp-Perm after 12 weeks
• 06:30-16:00
• 06:30-12:30 on Fridays
