Hays Education are working with a school rated 'Good' by Ofsted just outside Derby centre. This is a small school who has high levels of SEND and behavioural needs.


As a Primary School Support Worker, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of our young learners.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Individual / Group Support: Provide personalised support to students with SEMH needs, ensuring their well-being and engagement in learning.
  • Behaviour Management: Implement effective behaviour management strategies to promote positive behaviour and minimise disruptions.
  • Academic Assistance: Assist students in accessing the curriculum, adapting materials as needed.
  • Emotional Support: Build strong relationships with students, offering emotional support and encouragement.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, therapists, and other staff to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of student progress and interventions.


Requirements:

  • Experience in a child-facing role
  • Relevant teaching assistant qualifications are desirable but not essential
  • Experience with working with SEND children is essential
  • Excellent classroom practice
  • Behaviour management
  • Enthusiasm and flexibility
  • Strong interpersonal and organisational skills
