Job Overview:

The Quality Assurance Auditor is responsible for planning and conducting internal audits to ensure compliance with established quality standards and procedures. This role involves evaluating the effectiveness of the quality management system, identifying areas for improvement, and ensuring that corrective actions are implemented. The Quality Auditor works closely with various departments to foster a culture of continuous improvement and quality excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct Quality Audits

  • Plan and schedule internal audits based on risk assessments and organizational priorities.
  • Conduct audits to evaluate compliance with quality standards (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, BRC) and company policies.
  • Prepare audit reports detailing findings, non-conformities, and areas for improvement.

Audit Planning and Preparation

  • Develop audit plans and checklists based on relevant quality standards and organizational requirements.
  • Review documentation, records, and processes prior to audits to ensure thorough preparation.
  • Communicate audit plans and objectives to relevant stakeholders.

Reporting and Follow-Up

  • Document audit findings and present them to management and relevant departments.
  • Track and verify the implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Follow up on previous audit findings to ensure continuous improvement.

Compliance and Risk Management

  • Assess compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Identify potential risks and recommend actions to mitigate them.
  • Ensure that all quality-related activities comply with legal and regulatory requirements.

Recommend Improvements

  • Provide actionable recommendations to management based on audit findings to improve food storage safety, quality, and operational efficiency.

Monitor Corrective Actions

  • Follow up on audit findings to ensure that corrective actions have been implemented effectively and that improvements are sustainable.

Continuous Improvement

  • Analyse audit results to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Participate in quality improvement projects and initiatives.
  • Provide recommendations to enhance the quality management system and processes.

Training and Support

  • Assist in the development and delivery of training programs related to food safety, quality control, and regulatory compliance for operatives and management.
  • Provide guidance and support to departments on quality standards and audit processes.
  • Assist in developing and delivering training programs related to quality management and auditing.
  • Promote a culture of quality awareness and continuous improvement within the organization.

Stay Informed

  • Keep up to date with the latest industry trends, regulations, and best practices in food safety and quality assurance.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and proficiency in MS Office.
  • Level 3 Food Safety (Desirable)
  • Level 3 HACCP (Desirable)
  • Internal Auditor Training
  • Qualified to GCSE level in English and Maths (Or Equivalent).
  • 2 years of experience in quality auditing and quality assurance
  • Knowledge of Food Safety principles/GMP
