The Role:

My client is seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Production Controller to oversee and manage the production planning, scheduling, and control processes within their precision aerospace manufacturing operations. The successful candidate will ensure that production targets are met efficiently while maintaining strict adherence to quality and regulatory standards.

Job RoleResponsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain production schedules to meet customer demands and delivery timelines.
  • Monitor and control work orders, ensuring efficient utilisation of resources and materials
  • Coordinate with procurement, logistics, and engineering teams to prevent production bottlenecks.
  • Track production progress and resolve any issues impacting productivity or quality.
  • Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure on-time material availability.
  • Implement and improve inventory control processes, minimising waste and ensuring optimal stock levels.
  • Maintain accurate production records, reports, and performance metrics.
  • Assist in capacity planning and workforce allocation to optimise efficiency.
  • Conduct root cause analysis on production delays and implement corrective actions.

The Candidate:

  • Proven experience as a Production Controller, Production Planner, or Scheduler within a precision engineering or aerospace manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of MRP/ERP systems and production planning tools.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration across departments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, high-precision manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies is desirable.
