SF Recruitment have a great opportunity recruiting for a Buyer for their client based in Derby. This is a 6 month contract role based in the office with a salary paying up to £35,500. Reporting to the Procurement Manager you will be supporting various projects within the business. You will be responsible for placing orders in alignment with schedules and requisitions to ensure timely deliveries. You will be required to identify suitable suppliers and negotiate tenders and quotations, carefully reviewing terms. This is a fast-paced role and you must have experience working in a similar role. To be considered for this role it is essential you are available immediately or on a short notice! Great for someone who is due to finish a contract or if you have recently been made redundant. Main Duties - Engage early with suppliers to ensure qualifications - Select suppliers based on cost, quality, performance, and compliance. - Manage information for Bills of Materials, material requests, and budgets to support business needs. - Negotiate prices, shipping, and delivery with suppliers; track savings and address capacity constraints. - Continuously order parts to maintain inventory levels and MRP. - Evaluate supplier performance through visits, meetings, and regular communication; address under performance with NCRs. -Review overdue POs, maintain general housekeeping, and manage PO life-cycle from placement to delivery and invoice matching. - Work with QHSE, Engineering, and Projects to ensure stakeholder satisfaction and effective teamwork. -Provide responsive purchasing, compare costs, evaluate quality, and manage all purchasing transactions in IFS. - Update supplier records Essential - Proficient IT skills specifically Word and Excel - Previous purchasing experience - Excellent organisational and communication skills - Ability to work to tight deadlines - ERP/MRP experience - Solve problems This is a fast-paced environment and suitable candidates will have experience of working in similar roles previously and be able to work under pressure and solve problems in a timely manner.
