Assistant Quantity Surveyor Opportunity

Are you an experienced Assistant Quantity Surveyor looking for a fresh challenge? Or perhaps you're a Trainee or a Graduate QS who feels ready for that next step. My client is looking for driven and ambitious individuals to join their team and work on exciting new residential developments across the East Midlands.

As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you'll support the Senior Quantity Surveyor on a variety of residential projects. You'll play a key role in cost management, procurement, and contract administration to ensure the financial success of developments.

Assistant Quantity Surveyor Responsibilities

  • Assisting with the preparation of cost plans, budgets, and valuations
  • Supporting the procurement of subcontractors and suppliers
  • Monitoring and controlling project costs
  • Assisting with the preparation of final accounts
  • Providing regular reports and updates to the Senior QS

Assistant Quantity Surveyor Requirements

  • Residential experience is ideal but not essential (experience in housebuilding, housing associations, or main contracting)
  • Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Proficiency in relevant software (such as COINS or similar)
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively
  • A team player who can also work independently
