Your new companyA Consultancy based in the East Midlands are seeking to appoint a PQS to join their team. The organisation are currently a team of 10 who specialise in the design, project management, cost management and delivery of capital projects across the region, managing projects ranging from £200k - £40M+. They are now looking to expand their team due to an influx of work. The salary is £60,000 + package and they operate a hybrid working policy where team members typically work 2 days per week in the office.

Your new rolePre-Contract Cost Management:Prepare and manage detailed cost plans and estimates throughout the project lifecycle.Advise on procurement strategy and cost control measures.Risk analysis and value management.Tender/ Contractual Management:Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities/ schedule of works.Review and negotiate contracts/ amendments with contractors & clients.Experience in standard forms of contract (i.e. JCT/ NEC etc.)

Project Monitoring & Reporting:Track changes to design or construction work and cost management reporting throughout the construction works.Interim valuations/ payments and liaise with contractors and clients on payment processes.Provide timely and detailed reports on the financial status of projects, reporting to the client on over/ underspend, commercial risks and cash flow.

Client/ Team Interaction:Work closely with clients, in-house architectural designers, designers, contractors, and other stakeholders.Collaborate and influence stakeholders to drive cost-efficient outcomes.

What you'll need to succeedQualifications:Bachelor's degree in quantity surveying or a related field.Ideally (not essential) accreditation from a recognised professional body such as RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors).Proven experience in a senior role at a private/ consultancy-based quantity surveying firm.

Skills:Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.Excellent interpersonal and soft communication skills.Proficient in quantity surveying software and tools.The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
