Do you want to be part of a high-performing commercial team delivering complex and high-value infrastructure projects? If so, this opportunity could be for you.Our client is a leading main contractor renowned for delivering complex and high-value projects across the water sector. As part of a major long-term framework in the region, they are looking to strengthen their commercial team with a Quantity Surveyor based in Derby. With hybrid working available, this role offers a fantastic opportunity to work on high-profile projects while benefiting from a flexible working environment.The RoleReporting directly to the Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the end to end commercial management of large refurbishment projects within the water and utilities sector. These will typically be valued from £5m up to £15m and can include waste water treatment works, pumping stations and water storage.Your role will involve:

  • Managing applications, valuations, and cost value reconciliations.
  • Controlling project costs and forecasting, contributing to monthly reports on value, cost, profit/loss, and cash flow.
  • Supply chain management, including procurement and subcontract negotiations.
  • Supporting Risk and Value Management to optimise project solutions.
  • Providing mentoring and guidance to the project team.
  • Contract management, including NEC contracts and bespoke forms.
  • Ensuring documentation and notifications are up to date.
  • Advising the site team on contractual matters and ensuring safety risks are addressed.

What We're Looking For

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
  • Previous experience using the NEC contract
  • Experience working with a main contractor or subcontractor within the utilities, civil engineering or infrastructure sectors
