Senior Quantity Surveyor - Rail - OUTSIDE IR35

Senior Quantity Surveyor with experience of working for main contractors in a railway environment required for an initial 12 month contract in Derby.

This is an OUTSIDE IR35 role that offers an exciting opportunity to work on some major rail projects in the East Midlands.

• Managing project work package change control, cost/budget management, and forecasting
• Mitigating risks throughout the project lifecycle
• Serving as the key commercial interface for responsible work package managers
• Providing contractual and commercial support to Project Managers and Engineering teams
• Contributing to internal and external commercial reports as per the Commercial Delivery Strategy
• Ensuring compliance with company standards in processes and document control
• Maintaining auditable records in accordance with contractual requirements
• Collaborating with finance, project management, engineering teams, sub-contractors, suppliers, and clients

• Extensive experience in quantity surveying within contractor-side rail projects
• Degree-qualified and/or working towards professional qualifications (e.g., RICS, ICES)
• Proficiency in handling subcontract costs, estimating change/variations, and forecasting costs
• Strong negotiation skills and ability to manage commercial strategies
• Ability to work autonomously and under cost/time-critical conditions
• Confidence in dealing with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
