About the Role:

Are you a skilled fleet technician ready to take on a key role in one of the UKs most exciting rail businesses?

Our client, a prominent player in the rail industry, specialises in: Rolling stock movement for train operating companies, Locomotive spot hire and Operation of high-profile charter trains.

Theyre now looking for a Locomotive Fleet Technician to join their engineering team someone who takes pride in maintaining, repairing, and optimising the performance of traction and rolling stock to the highest industry standards.

What youll do:

  • Maintain, overhaul, and modify the clients unique and varied fleet

  • Complete detailed technical records and ensure SMS compliance

  • Diagnose faults, support incident reporting, and carry out planned maintenance

  • Track components, spares, and asset conditions

What were looking for:

  • ONC/HNC or equivalent in Engineering/Technical discipline

  • Hands-on experience with traction & rolling stock

  • Knowledge of maintenance planning, rail industry standards, and fault analysis

  • Familiarity with systems like TOPS, R2, RSL, Genius

  • Full UK driving licence + flexibility to travel
