Astute Recruitment are currently seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant to join our clients rapidly growing team in Derby. This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented and proactive individual to play a key role in supporting the financial operations of our business, working closely with the Head of Finance.

In this varied role, you will be primarily focused on Purchase Ledger management while contributing to other aspects of financial operations. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and have a keen eye for detail, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process invoices across a group of businesses
  • Match GRNs (Goods Receipt Notes) to invoices
  • Investigate and resolve supplier queries
  • Perform regular supplier reconciliations
  • Prepare the weekly payment run and generate BACS files for upload
  • Regularly liaise with centres and the management team
  • Assist with the bank reconciliation process
  • Provide holiday cover for the Accounts Assistant
  • Further ad hoc duties when requested

Candidate Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent time-keeping skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Team player, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Salary up to 32,000 depending on experience
  • Working hours of 8:00am - 4:30pm
