Pay: 90 - 110 per day
We are working on behalf of a Good Ofsted-rated secondary school in Derby that is seeking a dedicated and experienced Science Technician to join their science department on a full-time basis. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the smooth running of the science labs and support teaching staff in delivering engaging practical lessons for students.
The Role:
As a Science Technician, you will play a key role in ensuring the science laboratories are fully prepared for lessons, maintaining equipment, and supporting both teachers and students during practical experiments. This position will run for the remainder of the academic year, offering the chance to be a valued part of a dynamic school community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing and setting up equipment for science lessons
- Supporting teachers during practical sessions
- Maintaining lab equipment and ensuring health and safety standards are met
- Assisting with the management of lab supplies and resources
- Providing technical support to both staff and students
Requirements:
- Experience working as a Science Technician in a school or similar setting
- A strong understanding of health and safety regulations in a laboratory
- Ability to manage equipment and resources effectively
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- A passion for supporting science education
