Hays Education are working in partnership with an Ofsted 'Good' secondary school based just outside Derby. They are looking for a committed Lead Teacher of Music to join their team. To be successful, you will have a broad range of experience teaching Music in secondary schools up to GCSE. KS5 experience is desirable but not essential. Job description:

  • Collaborate with the Curriculum Leader to deliver an ambitious and engaging KS3/4 Music curriculum.
  • Assist the curriculum leader by assessing and enhancing teaching and learning standards through various methods, including lesson observations with constructive feedback.
  • Provide mentorship to Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and trainee teachers.
  • Delivering engaging and creative science lessons to students.
  • Planning and preparing schemes of work, lesson plans, and assessments.
  • Monitoring student progress and providing feedback.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. ECT's welcome to apply.
  • Bachelor's degree in Music or a related field.
  • Recent experience teaching Music at secondary school level.
  • Strong behaviour/classroom management.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers and staff members
